I focused on the serenity garden, a place where people go to mourn their lost children. I wanted to convey grief in my story. Starting with a shot of a character walking into the garden. The lighting in this shot pulls focus to the loneliness of the character. I used leading lines to point to the bench, I had clean photos showing leading lines, but the loss is messy and painful so I chose this despite the chaos. Next, I focused on the cars moving in the background as a character rested on the bench, her grief having slowed time whilst the world around her raced by. Digressing slightly, I showed teddies tied to a tree. One of the most impactful photos shows the youth of the person who has passed away and highlights the tragedy of the garden. Next, I used framing to show the star as a place to remember the lost loved one. Lastly, I took a detailed shot of the character holding the petal with the name of their child. The butterfly symbol conveys a sense of acceptance and reiterates the purpose of the garden as a place to heal in between the chaos of life.
